Jarvis Thwainston escapes the reality of his pointless life by imagining himself as Harland Buckthorpe, the hero of his favourite books. When Jarvis meets Juliette, he seeks to win her heart by enthralling her with stories of his fantasy adventures. But as he attempts to woo the fair Juliette, Jarvis finds the path to love leads him in directions he could never have imagined.
